Frontier Secure To Bring 500 Jobs To Southwest Virginia

Tobacco Commission Awards Frontier $2 Million Opportunity Fund Grant
Richmond, VA – Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that Frontier Secure will locate a customer care center in Wise County. The center will create up to 500 new jobs along with $10.9 million in capital investment. The announcement was held at The Inn at Wise and attendees included The Honorable Maurice Jones, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade as well as Tobacco Commission Chairman, Delegate Terry Kilgore.

Speaking on the announcement, Kilgore said,“This is a great announcement for Southwest Virginia. The Commission’s investment in broadband led to this announcement and other companies needing this type of connectivity should look to the southwest. My congratulations to the company and Wise County.”

Tobacco Commission Member, Senator Ben Chafin added,“500 new jobs in the technology sector is a big step forward for Wise County and the entire region. I am proud of the work of the Tobacco Commission and local officials in helping make this possible. Frontier Secure will be a long term community partner for Southwest Virginia.”

The center will be located at the Lonesome Pine Regional Business and Technology Park. In 2001 the Tobacco Commission awarded $75,000 for work on the site.

“Frontier Secure is excited to announce the opening of our new Customer Care Center in Wise County, and we want to thank our partners from the state, county, region and local community for making this a reality,” said Kelly Morgan, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Frontier Secure. “Wise County offers the talent we depend on to drive our 100% U.S.-based operations, and we are proud to play a role in supporting economic growth in southwest Virginia. This expansion will provide us the additional capacity that we need to service our growing strategic partnership business.”

The Tobacco Commission worked with the Wise County Industrial Development Authority, the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to bring Frontier to Wise.
